STORRS, CT – The Iona University women's outdoor track & field team was represented by 
Tyaja Thomas on Friday at the UConn Northeast Challenge. Competing in two field events, Thomas set a Personal best mark in the Discus and took home a top-5 finish in the javelin throw.  
WoMEN'S Discus Throw
Tyaja Thomas set a personal best mark of 34.42 meters and finished 21st. Her effort sits comfortably within the top-15 distances in the discus throw by MAAC athletes this season.  
WoMEN'S JAVELIN THROW
Thomas competed in her second event of the day, finishing fifth in the javelin throw with a 39.74-meter effort.
