GLEN ISLAND, NY – The Iona University men and women's rowing teams fielded five boats in seven races. The men raced in Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+, while the women raced in Varsity 8+, JV 8+ and Novice 4+.
MEN'S VARSITY 8
The Gaels V8 boat took third place in the heat race, posting a time of 6:43.81. Meanwhile in the final, the Gaels finished fifth with a time of 6:42.09. Weeks Coxed and the rowers were Demers, Megal, Allen, Bolger, Ocampo, Karounos, Catinella and Dimes.
WoMEN'S VARSITY 8
Iona's women's varsity 8 finished their final posting a time of 7:26.56, enough for third place. They were 0:14 seconds off of second place. Donnelly Coxed while Ibbetson, Dean, Barber, Teddy, Robertson, Mann, Mutze and Mcdonald rowed.
WoMEN'S JV 8
Iona's JV 8 boat finished their final with a time of 8:11.68 coming in fourth place. Quintana coxed as Meehan, Gerger, Panavas, McGarty, Hughes, Lim, Ceja, and Rosario rowed.
MEN'S Varsity 4
Iona's varsity four plus boat finished fourth in their heat, posting a 8:20.12, not enough to finish top two and move onto the final. The rowers were Cone, Bogenrief, Lewis and Maya with Pagliuca coxed.
WoMEN'S Novice 4
Iona's women's novice 4 finished sixth in their final with a time of 10:59.5, but were third in their heat with a time of 9:09 beating Manhattan and Scranton by over a minute. Coxswain was Hosein as Riordan, Doronila, Mutis and Dennis rowed.
