SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Iona University acrobatics & tumbling team featured among those honored in the yearly awards by the NCATA Sunday afternoon.
Ty Upton earned her spot on the NCATA All-American list for her performances this season, becoming the first major postseason award winner in program history. A transfer from Gannon University, Upton's achievement is her second time being honored on the All-American list, earning the same award last year for her former school.Â
On the Academic Honor roll, an incredible 21 Gaels made the list and met the criteria of holding a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or above. Â

Ty Upton was honored with her second NCATA All-American award in her career, taking her talents to new heights this year as she based and topped in elite acro's while shining in her tumbling rounds. The Maroon & Gold athlete held down 11 rounds of play in Iona's historic first appearance at the NCATA National Championships Quarterfinals and partook in three of the five Event Finals that Iona Qualified for.
