NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Due to weather conditions and field considerations, the Iona University men's lacrosse 2026 season opener against Hofstra has been rescheduled and relocated.
The contest, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 31 at Hofstra, will now be played Monday, February 2 at 1 p.m. at Mazzella Field in New Rochelle.
Iona opens its second season as a program against Hofstra for the second straight year. In its inaugural season, the Gaels earned victories over Hampton and Quinnipiac and now look forward to hosting a nationally respected program in the Pride at home in New Rochelle.
Hofstra finished the 2025 season with an 8-7 record and was picked fourth in the preseason Coastal Athletic Association poll.
