EDISON, NJ – Iona men's indoor track and field junior
Duncan Robinson was named MAAC Runner of the Week following his standout performance at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston on Friday.
Robinson placed third in the 3,000-meter run in 7:48.13, recording the second-fastest time in program history and the 20th sub-eight-minute performance ever by a Gael. His mark stands as the fastest in the MAAC this season and is the conference's only sub-eight-minute time in the event. He lowered the previous top league mark by 22 seconds, with teammate
Baptiste Cartieaux now ranking second in the conference following the same race.
On the national level, Robinson ranks 32nd in the NCAA this season. He is the lone MAAC student-athlete ranked among the Top 50 in any event and owns the fastest time in the Northeast region this year, the highest mark of any MAAC performer.
The honor marks Robinson's second MAAC Runner of the Week award of the 2025-26 season. He previously earned the distinction on January 27.
The Gaels return to action this weekend at the 2026 MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Armory in New York City. The event can be viewed live on ESPN+.
