LEWISBURG, PA - Behind the strength of four strong relays, the Iona women' s swimming and diving team solidified their hold on sixth place, as the men moved up to 12th after two days of competition at the 2026 ECAC Open Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Iona women stand in sixth place with 167-points. Navy (597); Bucknell (362); Loyola (269); Penn (251) and Fairfield (193) occupy the top five spots. On the men's side, Navy, Bucknell and Columbia hold the top 3 spots.
The opening session saw the Iona women's 200-yard Medley team of Julia Hulse, Hailey Baker, Victoria Mordaunt and Mary Grace Waring post a 1:45.81 time for sixth. The team of Dylan Malave, Jonathan Rielly, Harry Summers and Nicola Re placed 10th at 1:36.24.
Individually, Freshmen Mordaunt reached the final of the 100-yard Butterfly placing fifth at 56.18. Later Mordaunt returned to take 11th in the 100-Backstroke at 57.17. The 400-Individual saw classmate Marissa Hengesback place 7th at 4:37.97, with senior co-captain
Katherine Sarnes in 9th at 4:46.04. Freshman
Francesca Fields finished the individual scoring with a 1:05.98 clocking in the 100-Breaststroke at 1:05.98.
The night's scoring concluded with Kate Kennedy, Hengesbach, Maddie Lauria and Caitlin Hopkins placing 6tn in the 800-Freestyle Relay with a 7:53.00 time. The men's quartet of Re, Malave, Colin Martin and Summers placed 6th with 7:10.66 clocking.
The meet concludes Sunday with the 200-Backstroke, 100-Freestyle, 200-Breaststroke, 200-Butterfly, 1650-Freestyle and 400-yard Freestyle Relays.
