Stony Brook, NY - Despite controlling much possession early in the game, the Iona College men's soccer team was kept scoreless in a 2-0 loss to Stony Brook University earlier tonight.
Wasting no time, the Gaels took three shots in the opening ten minutes of the first half. The squad attempted eight more shots throughout the remainder of the game, unable to put one past the Seawolves goalkeeper. Stony Brook scored once in the 11th minute, and again in the 89th minute to seal the deal.
Goalkeeper Nils Binstock spent the entire contest in net, knocking down four saves. Felipe Faundez and Nicholas Smaldone each took one shot on goal for the Gaels.
The team battles Army at West Point this Friday at 7:00 pm.
