Annapolis, MD - Navy took a doubleheader from the Iona College baseball team this afternoon in non-conference action at Max Bishop Stadium. The Midshipmen (5-5) blanked the Gaels (0-8) 5-0 in the opener before an 11-5 win in the nightcap.

Mike Walraven recorded Iona's lone hit in the 5-0, game one loss. Senior RHP
Bobby DiNuzzo allowed three earned runs and struck out four in 3.1 innings. Senior RHP

Mike McManemin combined for 2.1 innings of one-hit relief.
The Gaels jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning of game two. Two straight errors to lead off the inning put runners on first and third with no out. Sophomore LF
Andrew Passerelle doubled home senior CF
Paul Salerno for the teams first run. Two batters later, junior SS
Joe Lorenzo drove in two more with a double to give Iona a three-run cushion.
Navy got two runs back in the bottom of the second on a two-run home run. Lorenzo answered in the top of the third however with a two run shot of his own, his first of the season.
The Midshipmen answered with nine unanswered runs to pull away with the 11-5 win.
Passerelle had three hits in four at bats with a run scored and an RBI. Lorenzo had four RBI in his 2-for-4 effort with the double and home run.
Junior RHP
Justin Karn (0-1) took the loss in relief.
The Gaels return to action in a four-game weekend series at West Virginia. The squad plays single-games on Friday and Sunday sandwiched around a Saturday doubleheader in Morgantown.
