New Rochelle, NY - Iona College men's basketball standout
Dexter Gray has signed a professional contract to play in Chile. The Gaels' leading scorer in 2007-08 will play for Puente Alto C.D. Santiago in Chile's first division.
Regarded as having one of the elite basketball leagues in all of South America, Puente Alto is among the league powers. Gray will look start at power forward for Head Coach Marcos Beltramella.
As a senior in New Rochelle, Gray averaged a team best 11.3 points per game and was second with 5.2 rebounds. He appeared in all 32 games and made 27 starts.
Gray joins several other Gaels in the professional ranks abroad.
