PRINCETON, NJ & WALNUT, CA - The Iona College women's outdoor track team competed on both coasts on Friday at the Larry Ellis Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays. Sophomore Heidi Gregson was the top performer with her first place finish in the 1500 meter event in California.

Gregson's time of 4:21.37 topped Georgia's Kristie Krueger by .33 seconds. The time was one second off her personal best and the second fastest time in school history. Former Gaels standout McKayla Plank holds the school record at 4:19.29 at the NCAA Championship in 2007. She also qualified for the ECAC Championship with the time.

Graduate Anna Holm-Joergensen was 35th overall in the 1500-meter run at Princeton in 4:37.96.

The Gaels continue at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday.
