GREENSBORO, NC - Iona College women's outdoor track sophomore Heidi Gregson advanced to the NCAA Championship semifinal round of the 1500-meter run with her third place performance in the second heat of the event at the NCAA Division I East Regionals on Saturday. Gregson ran the ninth fastest time of the 23 competitors in the race.

Gregson's time of 4:19.14 was a personal best and new school record in the event. She topped former Gael standout McKayla Plank's time by .15 seconds set at the NCAA Championships in 2007. With the finish, Gregson advances to the NCAA Championships at the University of Oregon in Eugene in from June 9-21.
