WEST POINT, NY - The Iona College men's soccer team allowed three second half goals and fell to Army 3-0 Friday evening at Clinton Field.
After a scoreless first half, Army got on the board quickly in the second. In the 47th minute, Army's Kyle Golonski put a shot past Iona goalkeeper
Borja Barbero from six yards out. In the 62nd minute, Josh Koeppe took a pass from Devin Perlee and put it in the net to push the Army lead to 2-0. Perlee notched his second assist of the game in the 70th minute when he sent a cross in to Cody Guerry, who buried it in from 10 yards out.
Overall, the teams both took 11 shots, with each team taking four shots in the first and seven in the second. Army led in corner kicks, 5-3.
Iona is back in action Sept. 6 against Florida Gulf Coast in the first of two matches at the South Florida Tournament in Tampa.
