STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Iona College men's indoor track & field program opened its 2021-22 indoor season the Bill Ward Invitational hosted by St. John's University at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Gaels earned several Top 10 finishes among the six events they had athletes competing.

TOP 10 GAELS

• Iona's sprint squad had a strong performance, led by Jordan Providence's first place finish in the 60-meter event. In the second-year performer's indoor track debut at Iona, Providence blazed a 6.85. Finishing less than 0.2 seconds later was sophomore Jadyn Tabois in seventh place.
• Providence also had a strong performance in the 200-meter dash, finishing second in 22.05. Senior Kevin Fullerton cane in third, less than a half-second later.
• Tabois picked up a fifth-place finish in the 300-meter event (35.74).
• In the 1,000-meter event, freshman Nick Sinofsky was eighth overall (2:33.16);
• Iona's final Top 10 performance came from freshman Daniel Shephard in the 3k event. He was fourth in 8:47.62.
• The Gaels will be back in action after the holiday break on January 15 at the Penn 8 Team Select at Ocean Breeze.
