Nick Soldevere won gold medals on day two.
MILE RUN
Entering the finals as the top seed, El-Sandali held serve and won the event with a time of 4:09.17. He topped Monmouth's Tennessee Tremain by nearly four seconds in the event.
200-METER DASH
Tabois ran the fastest 200-meter time, finishing first in the second of two heats. The sophomore ran a personal best and Iona season-best time of 21.71. Senior
Kevin Fullerton also won his heat in 21.84 and earned a silver medal.
800-METER RUN
Like the sprint squad in the 200-meter event, Soldevere and junior
Mael Gouyette finished 1-2 in the 800-meters. Soldevere turned on the jets in the home stretch to earn a time of 1:51.61. He was followed closely behind by Goyette's 1:52.01 in his MAAC Championships debut.
60-METER DASH
Iona took home two medals in the 60-meter run as senior
Prince Forson and freshman
Jordan Providence earned silver and bronze. Forson posted a 6.90, followed closely behind by Providence's 6.95. Forson was edged by the narrowest of margins (.01 seconds) by Rider's Artie Burgess.
3000-METER RUN
Two Gaels earned points for the Maroon & Gold in the 3k event. Sophomore
Jonathan DeSouza (8:15.57) earned silver, finishing three seconds behind the race winner. Rookie
Tadhg Donnelly finished with the sixth best time in 8:26.64.
TEAM SCOREBOARD
Monmouth won its fourth straight (and final) MAAC title with 205 points. Rider was second with 172 followed by Iona's 105 points. The Gaels nearly doubled up the fourth-place squad, Manhattan, who finished with 53.5. Saint Peter's, Marist, Siena and Canisius rounded out the bottom four.
With eight gold medals between the men's and women's programs at the event, Iona was one shy of Monmouth's nine for the MAAC lead. The Gaels' eight silver medals were also second most to the Hawks.

A handful of Gaels will compete in the Boston University Last Chance Meet next Sunday (February 27) as they attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships March 11-12 in Birmingham, Alabama.
