NEW YORK, NY - The Iona College men's and women's indoor track & field squads competed at the 2022 Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge at the Armory Track & Field Center on Friday and Saturday.
MEN'S 3000-METER RUN (INVITATIONAL)
Junior
Mael Gouyette was Iona's top finisher at the meet, earning seventh place honors in the 3k event with a time of 7:59.36. He was one of four collegiate runners in the invitational event that feature a mix of professional and NCAA runners.
WOMEN'S 5000-METER RUN (COLLEGE)
Freshman
Kate Sherman also earned a seventh-place finish, in the women's 5k college event, finishing in 18:54.69.
WOMEN'S 3,000-METER RUN (COLLEGE)
Graduate
Gemma Nuttall was 11th overall and the eighth NCAA finisher in the 3k college event, posting a time of 9:44.29. Freshman
Madison Klein finished 15th in 9:53.26 as 43 runners crossed the line in the multi-heat event.
WOMEN'S MILE RUN (COLLEGE)
Graduate
Sophie Murphy finished 11th overall and was the ninth NCAA finisher in the 46-runner collegiate mile race field. Murphy ran a personal best time of 4:52.29.
WOMEN'S 60-METER DASH (COLLEGE) / LONG JUMP (COLLEGE)
Freshman
Kedarjah Lewis posted a school record time in the 60-meter dash, blazing a 7.769. She was 22nd in the preliminary heats. Lewis also finished 16th in the Long Jump, with a best performance of 5.64m. It was less than an inch and a quarter off her school record and personal best jump set two weeks ago.
MEN'S 200-METER DASH (COLLEGE)

Jadyn Tabois earned 13th place in the 200-meter event, running a time of 22.213.
