RALEIGH, NC - The Iona College men's outdoor track & field team opened its 2022 campaign at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University. Four Gaels competed on the opening day of the weekend event.
5000-METER RUN
Junior
Jamie Dee led three Iona performers in the 5k event, placing 32nd with his time of 14:02.24. It was his second fastest collegiate time in the event. Junior
Mael Gouyette followed closely behind his classmate, finishing 35th in 14:03.85. Sophomore
Jonathan DeSouza's time of 14:23.44 was good for 78th. Nearly 150 runners competed in the event.
1500-METER RUN
Sophomore
Nick Soldevere ran a 3:48.97 in the 1500, finishing 67th among the 200 competitors earning a time. It was a personal best time for the second-year runner who shaved nearly five seconds off his time from the same event in 2021.
