BOSTON, MA - The Iona College men's and women's indoor track and field programs competed in the 2022 ECAC and IC4A Championships at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center. Women's senior Gemma Nuttall earned an ECAC Championship in the 3,000-meter run while men's sophomore Joshua DeSouza was runner up in the IC4A mile to lead the 13 Gael runners competing at the event.

WOMEN'S 3K

Nuttall earned her first collegiate ECAC title, running a personal best time of 9:23.70. In a hotly contested performance, she finished .07 seconds ahead of UConn's Mia Nahom. Freshman Nadine Donegan was sixth overall in 9:29.16, also a personal best and more than 12 seconds faster than her second-place performance at the MAAC Championship.

MEN'S MILE

Joshua DeSouza's second place finish in the IC5A mile came in 4:03.47, less than two seconds behind Stony Brook's Robert Becker. Becker repeated as mile champion from the last held event in 2020. DeSouza qualified with a time 4:04.04, also the second fastest prelim time.
