CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The Iona University men's cross country team finished 29th at the 2023 NCAA Championships held at Panorama Farms and hosted by the University of Virginia. Senior Joshua DeSouza was the Gaels' top performer, finishing 91st overall.

THE RUNDOWN

DeSouza crossed the 10,000-meter course in 30:28.9. Less than seven seconds later, sophomore Lachlan Wellington (30:35.5) crossed in 103rd place as the Maroon & Gold's second runner to cross the line. Juniors Damien Dilcher (189th, 31:36.2) and Nick Soldevere (206th, 31:52.8) and senior Jonathan DeSouza (222nd, 32:28.4) rounded out Iona's scorers. Sophomores Matt Rankin
and Tadhg Donnelly also competed in the event.

TEAM/INDIVIDUAL TITLES

Oklahoma State earned the team title finishing with 49 points. Northern Arizona (71), BYU (196), Arkansas (211), and Iowa State (230) represented the top five. Harvard junior Graham Blanks won the individual crown.
