RIVERDALE, NY - Five members of the Iona University men's and women's cross country program competed at the 28th Annual Br. John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park.  Three men and two women crossed the line for the Gaels Friday morning.

IONA PERFORMERS

MEN'S RACE

Junior Daniel Shephard was Iona's top finisher, crossing 51st overall and posting a time of 27:06.8. Freshmen Jack O'Keefe (54th, 27:18.8) and Hunter Wilson (65th, 27:57.2) also competed.

WOMEN'S RACE

Junior Cosmina Spiridon completed the women's 5k race in 19:44.4, and was 35th overall.  Senior Susie O'Flynn finished 58th in 20:24.3.

MICK BYRNE MEN'S 8K RACE

Binghamton junior Josh Stone earned the individual title in 25:03.2.  Army won the team championship with 42 appoints, ahead of Saint Joseph's 64.

JOE DULA WOMEN'S 5K RACE

Army's Georgia Jones led her squad to a first place team finish earning the individual crown by nearly 30 seconds (17:36.7).  The Black Knights posted a team score of 22 with all five scorers inside the top seven.  Johns Hopkins was second with 62 points.
