POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Iona University men's cross country team kicked off the 2023 season with a team win at the 2023 Marist Season Opener. The Gaels had four of the top five finishers and five inside the top 10, led by red shirt freshman
Aiden Coles as individual champion.
THE RUNDOWN
Aidan Coles finished the 6,000-meter event with a time of 18:59.6. He was followed closely behind by his brother
Tristan Coles (19:01.6). Classmate
Scott Fagan (19:02.5) and junior
Nick Soldevere (19:02.5) earned third and fourth place. Senior
Campbell Lee was the Maroon & Gold's fifth scorer in ninth place (19:27.4).

Jack O'Keefe, junior
Daniel Shephard and freshman
Hunter Wilson also competed for the Gaels, finishing consecutively from 23rd-25th place.
TEAM SCORES
Iona's 19 team points was 24 better than second place and event host Marist. Siena was third (110), Sacred Heart fourth (115) and Albany fifth (117).
