PROVIDENCE, RI & GAINESVILLE, FL - The Iona University men's outdoor track team competed Friar Invitational at the Ray Treacy Track at Hendricken Field in Providence while senior sprinter
Jadyn Tabois took his talents to represent the Gaels at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville. Freshman
Bradley Giblin posted a sub-four time in the mile in Rhode Island, believed to be the first Gael to accomplish the feat outdoors.
200-METER DASH (GAINESVILLE, FL)
Tabois was the lone Gael to compete at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational hosted by the University of Florida. He ran a time of 20.82, enough for 22nd overall in the men's 200m invitational race in the fourth heat of the event. The time was .16 seconds off of his personal best for the event.
MILE RUN (PROVIDENCE, RI)
The men's mile saw some strong performances. Giblin was the quickest of the Gaels quartet competing in the event as he ran a personal best time of 3:59.45, cracking the four-minute mark for the first time. Giblin is the ninth Gael to run a sub-four mile and the first to do so outdoors.
Senior
Nick Soldevere was nearly the second Gael to eclipse the four minute mark, just missing out with a time of 4:00.31. Sophomore
Aiden Coles approached his personal best with a 4:03.69 showing, while redshirt
Matt Rankin ran 4:08.62 running unattached for 16th overall.
100-METER DASH
In the 100m, junior
Jeremy Scott paced the Maroon & Gold with a time of 11.09 for third overall. He finished just ahead of freshmen
Cameron Washington's 11.23 who was fourth. Sophomore
Jiles Addison (11.49) and
Evan Gralitzer (11.91), were the other Gaels to compete in the event, finishing eighth and 10th, respectively.
200-METER DASH
The 200m for the Gaels was once again paced by Scott as he finished with a time of 22.66, a personal best time. Washington was in next running 23.29. The other Gaels in the event were Addison (23.83), freshman
Keith Holloway (23.95), Gralitzer (24.23) and freshman
Jevon Bolt (24.25).
110-METER HURDLES
Holloway kicked off the evening in Providence for the Gaels, running a college personal best time of 15.65 in the 110m hurdles. Holloway finished in third place behind two Syracuse athletes.
400-METER RUN
Doubling back from the 100m, Providence ran 49.77 in the 400 for fourth and a personal best effort. Bolt finished in 52.99 for seventh place, also a personal best time for the rookie.
3,000-METER RUN
Two Gaels competed in the men's 3k. Sophomore
Scott Fagan paced the pair with an 8:27.30 for seventh overall. Senior
Nick Hunziker ran 8:53.41.
800-METER RUN
Three Gaels competed in the 800m for the Gaels. Freshman
Christian Audrin started the event off with a 2:01.53 in the first heat. Junior
Caleb Deane was next up in 1:59.37 for 32nd overall. Finally, senior
Damien Dilcher rounded things out for the Gaels with a strong showing, running 1:53.98 for 11th overall.
