STONY BROOK, NY - The Iona University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team kicked off its season on Saturday in Stony Brook, New York in the Stony Brook Snowflake classic. Serving as a warm up for the outdoor season ahead, the Gaels set multiple personal best across Saturday with three in the 400-meter event alone.   Â
MEN'S 400-METER dash
The Gaels listed their largest amount of finishers in any event at the Snowflake classic with seven in the 400-meter dash. Four finished within the top 10 out of 17 competitors:
Jack Bretthauer (5th, 53.38),
Evan Gralitzer (7th, 53.73),
Jiles Addison (8th, 53.83), and
Andrew Fogarty (10th, 54.59). Fogarty joined
Caudell Cajuste (11th, 55.76) and
Hunter Wilson (12th, 56.69) in collecting personal best times.
Hunter MacDuff (13th, 56.90) also competed in the event.Â
MEN'S Mile Run
Jack Novelli earned a fifth-place finish off a time of 4:29.26, a personal best for the Mountain Top, Pennsylvania native. Â
MEN'S 110-meter Hurdles
Keith Holloway was one of only two competitors in the 110-meter hurdles event but regardless finished first with a time of 16.06.Â
MEN'S 800-meter Run
Freshman
Patrick Rullo competed in his first outdoor 800-meter event, collecting a time of 2:04.44 and finishing fourthÂ
MEN'S 4x100-meter Relay
The Maroon & Gold quartet of
Edmund Lok,
Joe Surozenski,
Jiles Addison, and
Cameron Washington finished second out of four with a time of 44.03Â
