RALEIGH, NC - The Iona University men's outdoor track team competed at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina Thursday night. In the only day out of the three where the Iona men will compete at the Raleigh Relays, the Gaels left their marks with strong times.
Bradley Giblin and
Tadhg Donnelly spearheaded the Iona effort, both setting personal best times in their respective events.
MEN'S 5000-METER run
Bradley Giblin led the way for the Gaels, finishing third in his section and 14th overall with a personal-best time of 13:37.79. Giblin's finish stands as the fastest outdoor five-kilometer effort by an Iona Athlete since Ehab El-Sandali in 2022. Tristain Coles also achieved a personal best, finishing with a time of 14:01.44 for ninth in his section and 70th overall.
MEN'S 10,000-meter Run
Tadhg Donnelly was the next runner to set a historic time for the Gaels taking home a personal best time of 28.40.89, the fastest Iona 10k since Jack O'Leary in 2021. Oliver Boltz (50th, 29:01.15) and Crock Crockett (99th, 30.14.53) also competed for the Maroon & Gold late Thursday night.
MEN'S 3k steeplechase
Billy Coogan made a splash for the Gaels in the three-kilometer steeplechase event, coming in at 33rd with a time of 8:59.53.
Peter Fogarty set a personal-best in the steeplechase with a time of 9:07.56, finishing 48th.
