PROVIDENCE, RI - The Iona university men's outdoor track team competed in the Friar Invitational at Providence College on Friday. Both
Andrew Fogarty and
Billy Coogan landed themselves within the top five in the MAAC this season with their respective times, while
Jiles Addison and
Edmund Lok took home a one-two Maroon & Gold finish in the 100-meter dash.
MEN'S 100-METER dash
The 100-meter dash saw the largest Maroon & Gold showing, with five Gaels competing.
Jiles Addison led the way and finished first with a time of 11.15, followed by
Edmund Lok in second who had a time of 11.69.
Jack Bretthauer (4th, 11.89),
Evan Gralitzer (6th, 12.14), and Julian Shaw (7th, 12.68) also competed in the event.
MEN'S 400-meter hurdles
Keith Holloway was the first Iona finisher coming in with a personal best time of 59.43.
Miguel Gonzalez finished eighth with a time of 1:02.21. Both times sit within the top-20 of MAAC efforts this season.
MEN'S mile
Christian Audrin set a personal best mile time of 4:37.28, coming in at 63rd out of 81 finishers.
MEN'S Steeplechase
Andrew Fogarty finished sixth in the chase with a time of 9:26.36, earning the fourth best time achieved by a MAAC athlete this season.
MEN'S 5000-meter Run
Billy Coogan Set a personal best time of 14:40.15 in the five-kilometer run. The effort from Coogan means that three Iona athletes hold top-five outdoor 5000-meter times in the MAAC this season.
