Iona MLAX Features on MAAC All-Academic & All-Rookie Teams

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Metro Atlantic Athletic conference named their Men's Lacrosse All-Rookie and All-Academic teams on Friday Morning. For the All-Rookie honorees, Iona's Cullen Lawry stood out with a unanimous selection, while freshmen Maroon & Gold standouts Tochi Agwamba and Jimmy Kennedy were also selected.

On the All-Academic list, the Gaels posted an impressive 15 names on the list, considering only 17 players were eligible of the standards, with the MAAC requiring a grade point average of 3.2 out of 4.0 achieved after two semesters. With a team comprised of entirely redshirt and true freshmen, only 17 in Maroon & Gold were eligible.

2025 MAAC MLAX All-Rookie Team

Cullen Lawry was a unanimous selection for the MAAC All-Rookie team. With 30 goals and nine assists, Lawry led the team in points with 39. Lawry holds an important piece of Gaels' inaugural season, scoring the first goal in program history in Iona's matchup against Hofstra.

Team captain Jimmy Kennedy scored the second-most goals of any Gael this year, slotting home 15 and assisting half a dozen. The Springfield, PA native's career high three goals came against blank.

Tochi Agwamba led the Gaels defense in year one, a stout presence with 17 caused turnovers and 26 goals. The Iona defender also netted hsi first career goal against Manhattan in mid-April
