Joe Lorenzo was one of six Gaels to record a hit while driving in the teams lone run.
Manhattan scored in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 1-0 advantage. Lorenzo tied the score in the top of the third on a single that scored freshman RF
Trevor Hybner.
The Jaspers quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs of Iona starter LHP
Kevin Carmody. The home team added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth to round out the scoring.

Carmody scattered eight hits over 7.1 innings, allowing three earned runs while striking out three.
The Gaels return to action in the first of two non-conference tilts with local rivals at Fordham on Tuesday. The team then takes on Wagner the next afternoon.
