WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The Iona College women's outdoor track team competed at the 2010 Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary. Sophomore
Heidi Gregson was the standout as the top collegiate finisher in the 800-meter run while also anchoring an ECAC qualifying 4 x 800-meter relay time.
Gregson's time of 2:07.10 was more than a second and a half faster than the next collegiate finisher in the race. An unattached runner topped the sophomore by less than half a second. Her time was just .03 seconds off the school record set in 2007 by
McKayla Plank. Gregson continued her standout 2010 thus far in her first meet of 2008. Graduate
Leonie Smith was eighth overall with her time of 2:11.22.
The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Smith, juniors
Kristen Peluso and
Chelsea Borbolla and Gregson finished eighth overall in the event. Their time of 9:04.66 earned the quartet a spot in the ECAC Championships in mid-May.
Graduate
Anna Holm-Joergensen also earned a Top 10 finish with her third place time of 17:04.45 in the 5000-meter run.
