Iona Women's Golf Wraps Up Battle of the Beach Hosted by Stonehill

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC - The women's golf team competed at the Battle of the Beach, hosted by Stonehill College, in Pawleys Island at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club, finishing 11th out of 13 teams.

As a team, the Gaels posted a two-round total of +109, improving by seven strokes in the second round to close out the tournament.

Michaela Fernandez led the way for Iona, carding a +16 to tie for 14th overall. Fernandez's steady play anchored the lineup and highlighted a strong individual performance in a competitive field.

Maria Luiza Soares followed with a +22, finishing in a tie for 36th place. Leia McKenzie posted a +26 to tie for 46th, while Makenna Paxton placed 65th with a two-round total of +45.
Cassandra Pinho rounded out the lineup at +75, improving by 11 strokes from round one to round two.

Next up, the Gaels will travel to Fleming Island for the Sacred Heart Spring Invite on March 16–17 at Eagle Harbor Golf Club, as they continue their spring campaign.
