FLEMING ISLAND, FL - Iona's women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Sacred Heart Spring Invitational with a sixth-place finish at Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island, Florida. The Gaels were led by two strong individual performances, as Michaela Fernandez and Maria Luiza Soares both finished inside the top 15.

The duo tied for 13th place at 13-over par, each carding identical scores across the two rounds matching each other's round one scores in round two to close out the tournament. Just behind them, Leia McKenzie finished three strokes back, posting back-to-back rounds of 80 to finish at 16-over par.

Makenna Paxton and Cassandra Pinto rounded out the Gaels' lineup.

Host Sacred Heart won the team title, edging out fellow MAAC schools Manhattan and Fairfield.

Iona returns to action March 28–29 in Grasonville, Maryland, competing in the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay.
