PRINCETON, NJ – The Iona University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational, held Friday and Saturday, May 1-2, at Weaver Track & Field Stadium in Princeton, NJ.
800-METER RUN (FRIDAY NIGHT)
Freshman
Sofia Lumbreras delivered a standout performance, placing 21st in 2:10.17. Lumbreras recorded a personal best time, shaving six-tenths of a second off her previous mark at Providence, and now owns the third-fastest time in program history.
Freshman
Arabella Dickfos placed 33rd in 2:13.13, finishing just one second shy of her personal best set earlier this season at Providence.
400-METER RUN
Senior
Nadine Jefremow turned in a breakthrough performance, finishing 29th in 58.61. The time marked a personal best and her first career sub-minute 400-meter effort, making her the sixth Iona performer all-time to break the one-minute barrier, the third this season, and ranking fourth in program history.
Freshman
Kaleigh Murphy placed 41st in 1:02.26.
1500-METER RUN (FRIDAY NIGHT)
Freshman
Alex Schulz placed 11th in 4:26.82 in her first outdoor 1500-meter race. Her time ranks as the 11th-fastest in Iona history.
1500-METER RUN (SATURDAY NIGHT)
Freshman
Kiera Atkinson led the Maroon & Gold with an eighth-place finish in 4:33.27. Atkinson posted a two-second personal best, improving on her time from Marist two weeks prior and moving into the program's all-time top 25.
Senior
Maya Todd McIntyre placed 25th in 4:40.75, recording a personal best by 2.5 seconds, also improving on her performance at Marist.
JAVELIN THROW
Junior
Tyaja Thomas finished 19th with a mark of 36.82 meters.
800-METER RUN (SATURDAY NIGHT)
Freshman Gabby Carroll placed 29th in 2:21.62.
