Arrigoni Hall of Fame
Bob McMahon took his place in the Iona College Goal Club Hall of Fame as one of Iona College’s all-time top basketball performers.
McMahon appeared in 65 games during his career, averaging 16.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. A tremendous all-around player, but best known for his unlimited scoring capabilities, he is currently the 17th all-time leading scorer in Iona College history with 1,083 points.
He led the Gaels in scoring during all three of his seasons, averaging 17.8 points as a sophomore, 16.3 as a junior and 16.0 as a senior. As a sophomore, McMahon netted 30 points against Illinois Wesleyan and returned as a junior to tally 31 against that same squad.
His 16.7 points per game career scoring clip is still the tenth best average in Gael history.
