Arrigoni Hall of Fame
The top offensive football player in Iona history, Ralph Saldiveri '02 owns virtually every rushing and scoring record in program history. Saldiveri finished his career with 4,507 yards rushing and 41 touchdowns, by far the most of any player to wear Maroon & Gold on the gridiron.
Saldiveri's career rushing total is 1,747 yards more than the second highest on the list. He ranks first in rushing attempts (986) by more than 400 carries; all-purpose yards (5,063) by nearly 1,200 yards; touchdowns (41), a dozen more than No. 2; and points scored (248), 74 more than Arrigoni Hall of Famer Byron Womack.
Saldiveri owns three of Iona's six all-time 1,000-yard rushing seasons and graduated with the top three efforts. He set the program record with 1,069 as a sophomore and eclipsed it in each of his final two seasons (1,400 and 1,539). Saldiveri scored 10 or more touchdowns three times in his career. His 16 scores in 1999 were three more than the previous school record.
He set the single-game rushing record with 264 yards and 41 carries vs. La Salle as a senior in 2000. He earned other single-game records with five touchdowns and 32 total points at Mazzella Field vs. Duquesne as a junior in 1999. His 91-yard scamper for a touchdown vs. Canisius as a sophomore in 1998 is the longest run from scrimmage in school history.
Saldiveri was an All-American selection during his tenure at Iona. His senior season he finished ninth in the NCAA with 138.2 yards per game.
Saldiveri earned a degree in Marketing from Iona's LaPenta School of Business in 2002.
