Arrigoni Hall of Fame
Don Walsh ’66 enters the Iona College Goal Club Hall of Fame as a valued friend, benefactor, and volunteer for the Athletics Department for over 30 years.
Walsh helped to develop the Goal Club- the major fund raising arm of Iona College Athletics- into a successful organization comprised of dedicated volunteers and College administrators.
Serving as the chair since 1992, the Goal Club has experienced over a 150% increase in the number of donors and a 300% increase in dollars donated during his tenure.
He is also the chair of the Goal Club Hall of Fame Golf Outing- the largest annual Athletics Department fundraiser-since the event’s inception in 1981. Additionally, Walsh served as Goal Club President from 1980-83, when the organization was an Alumni Association Chapter.
A member of the Alumni Association Board since 1977, Walsh also served on Iona’s legal Board of Trustees from 1989 to 2000. He was a recipient of the Alumni Association’s Brother Patrick B. Doyle Award for Distinguished Service in 1984 and the Brother Arthur A. Loftus Award for Outstanding Achievement in the field of accounting in 1994.
