Edward Arrigoni ’56, ’91H enters the Goal Club Hall of Fame as a valued friend and one of the most faithful benefactors to the Iona College Athletics Department.

Since graduating from Iona, Arrigoni has generously given his time, resources and energy toward the betterment of the College and the Athletics program. His spirit for his alma mater has been widely recognized. Arrigoni was the recipient of the Alumni Association’s 1978 Brother Arthur A. Loftus Award for Outstanding Achievement and the 1996 Brother William B. Cornelia Founders Award for Outstanding Service to Iona. In 1991 he received an honorary doctorate from the College and in 1996 received the “Edmund Rice Medal” at the Beatification of Blessed Edmund Ignatius Rice.

He funded the development of Iona’s Arrigoni Center, which is used for special events and to celebrate Sunday Mass, in memory of his father, Ferdinand E. Arrigoni. In 1995, he dedicated the Helen Arrigoni Library/Technology Center in memory of his late wife.

In 1998, Arrigoni funded and was actively involved in the strategic development of the Mulcahy Center Campaign. This campaign provided much needed renovations in the Mulcahy Gymnasium which included new seating, lighting, scoreboards and a refurbished gymnasium floor. With Arrigoni’s generosity and support this project was completed in 2000.

Arrigoni has an exemplary history as an alumnus, mentor and advocate of Iona. One of the College’s most loyal supporters, his generosity and assistance has been instrumental in the athletics program’s success.
