John Tortolani enters the Iona College Hall of Fame as one of the first outstanding players in Iona football history.
 
Tortolani captained the Iona College football team his senior year and started on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Offensively, Tortolani rushed for 1,075 yards and scored 13 touchdowns in nine games as the Gaels’ primary running back. On defense as Iona’s corner linebacker, Tortolani led the team in tackles and intercepted four passes, two of which he returned for touchdowns.
 
Upon graduation in 1968, Tortolani was added to the roster of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. Tortolani appeared in seven regular season games for the Tiger-Cats.
 
Today, John is president and founding partner of Brenner, McDonagh, Tortolani, Inc. BMT was founded in 1976 to provide management and financial consultation to non-profit organizations.
