  • Eileen was a founding member of the Women's rowing program which was established in 1977.
  • Upon graduation, she continued her rowing career at the all-male New York Athletic Club (NYAC) where she was coached by Iona alum, national rowing champion and two-time Olympic rowing coach, Vincent Venture '69.
  • She won elite national championships in the single and double sculls as well as a Canadian Henley championship in the quadruple sculls.
  • She participated in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic trials and selection camps for both teams while maintaining a full-time position as an actuarial consultant. She was also a member of the 1987 US Pan American Team.
  • After retiring from elite competition, she coached the NYAC junior team for 12 years and worked with US Rowing to develop junior rowers for future elite completion. 
  • Eileen was one of the first female members of the NYAC, and the first women ever to serve on the NYAC Board of Governors.
  • Eileen is an accomplished attorney and resides in New Rochelle with her husband Garr Di Salvo and her three children, Torin, Anya and Aidan.
