Eileen was a founding member of the Women's rowing program which was established in 1977.
Upon graduation, she continued her rowing career at the all-male New York Athletic Club (NYAC) where she was coached by Iona alum, national rowing champion and two-time Olympic rowing coach, Vincent Venture '69.
She won elite national championships in the single and double sculls as well as a Canadian Henley championship in the quadruple sculls.
She participated in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic trials and selection camps for both teams while maintaining a full-time position as an actuarial consultant. She was also a member of the 1987 US Pan American Team.
After retiring from elite competition, she coached the NYAC junior team for 12 years and worked with US Rowing to develop junior rowers for future elite completion.
Eileen was one of the first female members of the NYAC, and the first women ever to serve on the NYAC Board of Governors.
Eileen is an accomplished attorney and resides in New Rochelle with her husband Garr Di Salvo and her three children, Torin, Anya and Aidan.
