One of the top women's basketball players in Iona history, Karen Culbertson Brauer '01 graduated as the No. 3 all-time scorer in program history with 1,456 points, a mark that at the time of induction stands in sixth place. Â She averaged 13.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 109 career games played.
Upon completion of her career, Culbertson Brauer ranked No. 1 all-time in career free throw percentage, a mark that stands at the time of her induction. Â She also ranked second in free throws made (372), third in three-point field goals (147) and fourth in free throw attempts (440). Culbertson Brauer's free-throw percentage marks as a junior and senior ranked No. 1 and No. 2 at the time and her 122 free throws made in 1999-00 ranked third.
Culbertson Brauer was a four-time All-MAAC selection earning first team honors as a junior, second team as a senior, third team as a sophomore and all-rookie team as a freshman. She became the first player in Iona history to be named all-league in all four seasons, a number that now stands at five total at the time of her induction.
Culbertson Brauer earned a degree in Social Work from Iona's School of Arts and Science in 2001.
