One of the top women's basketball players in Iona history, Karen Culbertson Brauer '01 graduated as the No. 3 all-time scorer in program history with 1,456 points, a mark that at the time of induction stands in sixth place.  She averaged 13.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 109 career games played.

Upon completion of her career, Culbertson Brauer ranked No. 1 all-time in career free throw percentage, a mark that stands at the time of her induction.  She also ranked second in free throws made (372), third in three-point field goals (147) and fourth in free throw attempts (440). Culbertson Brauer's free-throw percentage marks as a junior and senior ranked No. 1 and No. 2 at the time and her 122 free throws made in 1999-00 ranked third.

Culbertson Brauer was a four-time All-MAAC selection earning first team honors as a junior, second team as a senior, third team as a sophomore and all-rookie team as a freshman. She became the first player in Iona history to be named all-league in all four seasons, a number that now stands at five total at the time of her induction.

Culbertson Brauer earned a degree in Social Work from Iona's School of Arts and Science in 2001.
